Opening sentence
"Seriously Zoom," I say while I scratch, "You are the world's best dog".
'Kelpie Chaos' is a lighthearted early-reader chapter book about a dog who takes itself off on an adventure. Briefly covering the issue of losing a beloved family pet and deciding to get a new one, this story follows Eli's adventures with Zoom, a lively puppy adopted from a local farmer and brought to live in town with Eli's family.
Delightfully woven throughout the story are aspects of raising a puppy that many of us would be familiar with, including the terrible 'teenage' years. While on a walk, Zoom disappears and what follows is a desperate search for the missing pup. What follows is a lesson in dog breeds and what a family can do to meet the needs of their pup, despite living in an urban environment. A great story about being a responsible pet owner.
