The library? In summer? It's ridiculous, scandalous, completely outrageous!
This book is about a young girl who is reluctant to read books and hesitant about going to the library. Once she gets there she is quickly drawn into the wonderful worlds and experiences found inside a book.

Initially the illustrations are drab with minimal colour until the girl discovers the stories within the pages of the book: then there is a burst of colour and wonder. As she closes the book again the colour drains away.

The text is presented in a mix of styles, some plain text, some comic style in panels with speech, some winding its way through a map.

I recommend this book and think it would be a great class read aloud.
