When I found out you were coming...my heart glowed.
A beautiful story that celebrates the emotions and bond between a mother and child.
This story starts with the feelings of a new mother when she finds out she is pregnant and captures the feelings and emotions of the mother as their journey continues and the child reaches different milestones in their life.
A tender story, this book brought back memories of the different stages of my children’s lives and how I felt towards them at the time.
Colourful and detailed illustrations capture the emotions and joy of the author’s words and support the story perfectly. The repetition of these emotions on the last page gives a satisfying conclusion and the reader is left to consider that while it appears the child is starting school, it could in fact be any time when a person leaves their mother’s home – a reminder that you are always in her heart and the door is always open.
The perfect gift for mum, this book could also be used to stimulate thinking about a mother or person who fills that maternal role in a child’s life before a Mother’s Day activity.
