Lynette Jack
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jack, Lynette (1965 – ) is a children’s picture book writer. Born in Taranaki, she has lived in Canterbury for most of her life, and published her first book in 2005.
When Giddy’s been Acting the Goat (Scholastic, 2005) was based on the antics of Jack’s pet goat Bent-Nose Jack. It ‘is told in rhyming couplets and rollicks along to a jaunty rhythm. The language is never forced and the story is easily read by beginning readers.’ Magpies, Vol 20:3, July 2005
Jack went on to publish two further stories about Giddy. Giddy: Prettied and Preened (Scholastic, 2006) sees the family pets preened for the annual pet show, and Giddy on her best behaviour. In 2007, Jack published Giddy: The Showdown (Scholastic). ‘I just love the rollicking and rhythmic verse and the humorous illustrations.’ Reading Time, Vol 51.
Lynette Jack lives in Carew, near Ashburton.
