Welcome to Blokes vs Books, a campaign that promotes Kiwi men as readers.
Today, meet Nathan Guy, National Party MP for Ōtaki.

Not surprisingly Nathan loves escapist reads. He’s a big fan of Lee Child (but still can’t reconcile himself to Tom Cruise playing the lead in the movies).
He’s also interested in leadership and reading about leaders. The book he is enjoying recently is called Leaders Like You: NZ Leaders Share Stories of Courage by Nick Sceatsand Andrea Thompson.
He says it’s an inspiring read about New Zealand leaders in all aspects of our society, shaping change.
We think fans of Lee Child will also like Ben’s pick I am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes. For a New Zealand crime author, we recommend Paul Cleave and Greg McGee writing as Alix Bosco.
For more great New Zealand books on leadership we recommend Wayfinding Leadership: Ground-Breaking Wisdom for Developing Leader by Dr Chellie Spiller, Hoturoa Barclay-Kerr and John Panoho.
Nathan’s desert island book? ‘Farts: a Spotters Guide’ byCrai S. Bower, Millard Crai and illustrated by Travis Millard.
Essential reading.
Kia ora, Nathan!
