Thank you so much for sending me Runt to review. It was the most amazing read! I may have loved it as soon as I saw it, the publication and cover illustrations are wonderful.

"Everyone deserves to walk their own path" is a quote from this beautifully written novel, which also perfect sums up the theme of this book.

Runt is the heart-warming story of Annie Shearer, an eleven year old girl, from the small town of Upson Downs and her adopted stray dog, Runt. When Annie’s family home is put at risk, she tries to solve the problem using Runt’s talents on the canine agility course.

This book make me both laugh and cry. Reading about the successes and hardships of Annie and Runt can be a rollercoaster of emotions at times, and it is hard not to become invested in these two very likeable characters. Runt has some very cool villains in the story, who I am sure young readers will just love to hate. I actually really liked all of the characters and especially the villains, as they were very much tied to the humour of the book.

Family values, honesty, friendship and love run through the themes of this story, which is incredibly well-written and will I am sure be very popular with a wide range of readers, and certainly a great class novel to share.
