Snake and Lizard came to know each other through an argument, the first of many.
Joy Cowley's Snake and Lizard is a charming collection of tales about the unlikely friendship between a cool and collected snake and an enthusiastic, sometimes impatient lizard. Filled with humour, and gentle life lessons, their adventures celebrate the joys and challenges of companionship. The story is complimented by Gavin Bishop's warm and inviting illustrations.

This book would be a great tool to use with a new class or a class that is struggling to work together. They can discuss how Snake and Lizard’s friendship grows as they learn more about each other’s feelings and perspectives, then look at the ways we can work together. It would also support students in understanding the concept of perspectives and how these may lead to conflicts in the wider world, linking it to the Histories Curriculum.
