Opening sentence
Ten nosey weka scurried in a line.
A group of nosey weka are out exploring the Chatham Islands. As they make their way around, curiosity gets the better of them and a few start wandering off.

This is a fun book that includes three languages (English, te reo Māori and ta rē Moriori), introducing young readers to basic counting and fun nouns. The illustrations show different landscapes from the Chatham Islands (Rēkohu in Moriori), and have lots for readers to explore, including animals found there. At the end of the book there are various pages which teach the reader more: 10 facts about weka, information about the Moriori people and a glossary.

This would be a great book for a school library collection.
