Everyone's chilling out on a lazy Sunday afternoon
On a Sunday afternoon, as the family is relaxing, they hear the ROAR of a plane outside. Running outside, the youngest child, Margery, recognises the plane. It is her oldest brother Michael in his topdressing plane. He’s coming into to land on the family farm. When he gets out, he asks “So, who wants to go FLYING?”. All the family are eager to go for a ride, but none more so than Margery. Will her dad let her go up in the plane, something she has always dreamed of, or will he agree with the others, that she is: too young, too little, and too scared?

This is a lovely New Zealand picture book. At the back of the book there is more information about Margery and her brother, Michael’s flying career. Included are facts about topdressing planes and other planes, as well as female pilots from Aotearoa New Zealand. This would be a great book for a library shelf, and interest children to learn more about aviation in Aotearoa New Zealand.
