Opening sentence
Her tusks were chipped, her trunk was cracked and the paint was flaking off her toenails.
At a visit to the park Noah notices the old elephant slide looks tired and worn. He decides to take the elephant on an adventure where the elephant finds his spark again.
An enchanting imaginative story for young listeners and a slightly reminiscent one for the adult reader. Many playgrounds have an old, neglected piece of play equipment left after upgrades and this story animates that piece and brings it back to life.
Simple story telling, flowing illustrations and plenty of imagination make this book a delight. There are subtle ideas of restoring and preserving but this book reads without agenda.
It is a book of happiness and joy, of childhood and family and of community.
