Opening sentence
There once were three nanas from the City of Seas, who ate nothing but chocolate nachos with cheese.
Children love stories where adults behave outrageously and do 'naughty' things and this book excels in this area. Not only do they eat unhealthy food, but they also are very loud and embarrassing in their behaviour and never say ‘thank you’ or ‘please.’
Minky Stapleton has created humorous illustrations which highlight how over the top these nanas are. Their clothes are bright, their mouths mostly wide open, their faces twisted into hilarious expressions, and they fill each page with their crazy actions. Children will also love the sounds of the words and the wonderful rhymes, such as: “Nana McCartan who couldn’t keep a fart in.” Enough said.
