He miramira, he mumura ngā whakaahua nā Josh Morgan.

“Ringakōreko” is a funny, book about a pig who doesn’t oink. Instead he says “ringakōreko / dazzlehands!”. Despite the farmer’s best attempts to make the pig say “oink / oika”, the pig continues to say “ringakōreko”. By the end of the book, the pig has all of the animals dancing with him.

Josh Morgan’s illustrations are bright and bold. I really enjoyed his use of colour to communicate the flamboyance of Pig’s character. This book will be very appealing to pre-schoolers.

'Ringakōreko' will be a great resource for whānau who have some fluency in te reo Māori, particularly whānau who have tamariki in Kōhanga Reo or Kura Kaupapa.
