Opening sentence
And Jeremy, watching the dog, felt inspired to follow his dreams and be all he desired.
What do space exploration and dance have in common? These are the two themes intriguingly combined in this book. Jeremy was a boy who loved the idea of space travel and his dog, Maxwell, was equally as passionate about dance. At first Jeremy feels mocked by his peers and is unsure of his ambitions but Maxwell inspires him to follow his dreams. And then comes the opportunity of a lifetime…
This book encourages big dreams and self-belief. It is presented with a rhyming text that introduces interesting and topical vocabulary. I would recommend pre-reading before reading aloud as some of the words can be unexpected and perhaps a little contrived to meet the rhyme. The illustrations are done in a limited palette with the contrast between dark for space and light for dance.
I expect many young dreamers, space enthusiasts, and dog lovers will love this story.
