Another in the series of Elephant and Piggie books, 'I’m a Frog', is a charming wee story about a pig who knows how to have fun using his imagination.

While Piggie is having a great time being a frog, Elephant is not so sure until Piggie introduces him to the word “pretend”.

This book would prompt oral language and discussion about the importance of being able to use your imagination for fun and help children understand the difference between make-believe and reality. It could be used as a base for dramatic play in the junior and pre-school ages and supports the idea that by using your imagination, you can pretend to be anything you want to be.

The illustrations are very basic, simply the two characters using grey for Elephant and pink for Piggie. The text is simply a series of speech bubbles from each character giving the appearance you are watching a conversation between the two characters.

With older students the book could be used as a prompt or a plan to move into drawing cartoons or storyboarding.
